Cow Girls

The first cowgirl was Lucille Mulhall.  Such a creature was in many early - and staged - images as young women wiled away their time and money on a photograph.  Mulhall was the real deal, however, and even had her own rodeo for a time.   She could ride, rope, and do all the tricks of her male peers in the saddle.

The character of young Ardella Minerva Terry, showcased in the work subtitled 'Diamonds and Dirigibles' is based on a person from family history, daring young ladies of the range such as Lucille and the finest in steampunk heroine archetypes.
